Welcome to Prompt, Tinker, Innovate—my AI playground. Each edition gives you a hands-on experiment that shows how AI can sharpen your thinking, streamline your process, and power up your creative work.

This week’s playground: From messy feedback to customer clarity

Customer feedback is a goldmine. It’s also a dumpster fire.

It’s a chaotic mix of bug reports, feature requests, billing confusion, and the occasional glowing compliment—plus the odd emotionally charged rant. Manually sifting through it all to find urgent issues and spot real trends is slow, soul-crushing work. By the time you’ve categorized it in a spreadsheet, 40 more customers have complained—and one’s already churned.

We need a way to turn raw feedback into a clear action plan in minutes, not days. When you can act on feedback in real time, customers feel heard, problems get solved before they snowball—and you become the team that listens, responds, and wins loyalty.

Your AI Experiment: The feedback furnace

⚠️ A quick note on privacy: Strip out names, email addresses, or any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) before pasting customer feedback into AI tools.

👉 Time to tinker: Grab a handful of recent customer emails, support tickets, or even social media comments. Then, copy and paste the prompt below into your favorite AI chatbot, followed by raw text from your customers (or screenshots, if easier).

📝 Prompt: “Here are a bunch of customer [emails, support tickets, testimonials, social media comments, etc.). Please sort them into clear categories (e.g., Bug Reports, Feature Requests, Usability Issues, Billing Questions), extract the most common themes with verbatim quotes, flag any feedback that sounds urgent, and give me a concise, prioritized action plan for the team.”

💡 Pro tip: Want to make it even more useful? Try these refinements:

  • Assign tasks: Want to route the actions to the right people? Add this to the end of your prompt: “...and create separate, bulleted action plans for the Product Team, the Engineering Team, and the Customer Support Team.”

  • Drill into one theme: Found a surprising theme? Drill down with: “Tell me more about the [specific theme]. What are the root causes mentioned in the feedback, and what are the suggested solutions?”

  • Summarize: Ask AI to write a one-paragraph executive summary you can drop straight into your weekly team update.

What did you discover?

What was the most surprising theme the AI uncovered from your feedback? Did it flag anything urgent that you had previously missed? Either way, you’ve now got a repeatable workflow to turn customer feedback into customer clarity—fast.
